Xmas and New Year in the Lakes

This year we spent the holidays in the Lake district at Cheryl's parents. Hoping to do alot of boating, we were a little disappointed by the cold and low levels. We did get a couple of days kayaking in, but then had to opt for some great hiking and biking too....

Xmas day boating on the Leven was followed by a boxing day run down the Crake. The lake fed runs were the only things with any water in them.... Heres a pic of Cheryl's dads van, with matching Kayaks.. I have just got a new Pyranha Karnali.... Hopefully I can take it to the Karnali (in Nepal) sometime soon!!!

Some of the best biking around in the Coniston Valley and Grizedale forest.

We hiked up Coniston old man... Started in the mist, and eventually climbed above it to spectacular views....

Returning back to our place in Wrockwardine, it all looked very frosty and Christmassy....

Cheryl's pillow just wouldn't stay still....

Brilliant. Glad you got to see the spectacular temperature inversion too. We were up Haystacks in the north lakes that day.

Hope to see you both soon- and hope you're feeling better!
